[ADXA] Announcement - Natural State Contesters

ADXA Members,

I want you to be aware of a newly formed club named Natural State Contesters.  As the name implies, the club is focused 100% on contesting and welcomes anyone that has an interest in operating in domestic and international contests.  The goal is to have a healthy mix of members that are at all levels of skill and experience so that the club can be accommodating to both the serious competitors and among those that are just getting started in the sport.  The club will be actively participating in all contest modes (CW, SSB, RTTY, and FT8/FT4).

Work is in progress to finalize the club’s organization charter and to name its first set of officers.  Soon to follow will be our application for becoming an ARRL affiliated club, deciding on our communication tools, and becoming more recognized through the contesting community. 

This past weekend the club participated in the CW Open contest and I think we received a lot of positive attention in our first contest.  Obviously, we hope and plan to keep this momentum going.  There is a lot of contesting interest and talent inside and outside the state and we are excited to give these operators a club to identify with and to share and gain contesting knowledge and tips.  

If anyone within ADXA would like to participate in a future contest event with Natural State Contesters or be included in our communications, let me know.  The only requirement for membership is to have an interest in contesting and no dues are planned for the foreseeable future.  I can foresee having a quarterly digital meeting and an annual face to face meeting (maybe the Russellville hamlets - TBD).
