I hope you have a speedy recovery. Sounds like a miserable illness.

Subject: [ADXA] Today's DX

Since I have been sick, I went to the Doc late yesterday. It was worth going because she was pretty. She also gave me some steriods and antibiotics for the sore throat and sinus infection, which was also worth going for.

I have joked about DX pills, but apparently these are the real deal and will help you work some DX, because you sure ain't gonna sleep when you take them.

Having tossed and turned with no rest, I decided to get in the recliner and work some DX on 40. Sometime around midnight the band was hopping, and QRM was easy to copy, but individual stations were a bit harder.

After working a few stations in Europe, nothing exotic, I noticed the band was also open west, and VK9DX had a good signal. I called him a couple times, but a station in Texas set up right on top of him, and that was the end of that.

I checked 7.056 and noticed TX5EU and CY0S were both on that frequency, So I worked TX5 with regular ft8 and switch to superhound to work Sable Island. I am very thankful to the stations that will work together and get on the same frequency so it will save wear on my vfo, and keep me from using up my energy changing frequencies.

Noticing that CY0S was also on 30 and 80, I decided about 1:45am to go out to the shack and change frequencies since the steriods were working so well. I switched to 80 and worked them easily, I switched to 30 where they were very strong, I thought it would be a piece of cake, but I was mistaken.

The european sunrise crew was breathing fire, and Jethrine which I had tuned to 200 watts pep into the inverted L would not get it done in the mess of a pileup. After calling for over an hour I finally called it quits.

Wanting to inform the ADXA of my good fortune, I checked my email and Lanny had already stolen all of my thunder, and had already worked all the stations that I had plus had worked them on other bands as well. It is the story of my life "A day late, and 2 dollars short".

Being disappointed, and also still wide awake, I sulked back to my recliner, and after my feelings got over being hurt, I remoted back in and found the Europeans on 30 didn't have the band conditions as a couple hours before and I was able to work CY0S there.

Congratulations to Lanny on the DX and to EJ for breaking the 3K challenge barrier. I am in pursuit of that number, but I wouldn't consider it hot pursuit, but a rather cold pursui. met having yet to break 1.5k.

In summary, The pills seemed to be making me better already, and I am still wide awake, Maybe I'll go chase more DX, or cook breakfast, or write some drivel for someone to waste their time reading...I just dont' know.

Have a gread day, and good DXing to you all
Randy/W5ZJ
