Randy, I saw you in there and hope you worked some new ones. You asked about the opening.
Last night (Tuesday night) I went to bed at 2:30 AM. At that time I noticed a few east coast stations working Europe on 6 meters, which is rare at that time even on the east coast, so I thought 6 meters might also open early for us, too. I got back up at 3:50 AM, an hour and 20 minutes later, and Europe was starting to come in. My first European QSO was at 4 AM. I stayed in the chair in front of the radio operating all day today for the next 14 hours 20 minutes straight non-stop except for quick bathroom breaks. My last European was at 6:20 PM this evening.
It was perhaps the best 6 meter opening to Europe I've ever seen. It covered the entire continent, a very broad opening. I was only hunting grid squares, so I wasn't looking for a rate nor running stations.
I ended up with almost 100 QSO's and about 30 countries including two new ones, EU and OH0. Fortunately the grid chasing paid off with 30 new grid squares bringing my 6 meters VUCC total to about 1420 grids.
I guess we will see if opens again tomorrow but I could use a break. (hi) I heard a number of ADXers in there so I hope everyone got some new ones. Joel, EJ and I moved to 323 early on which helped as the band was so crowded. I don't think I moved back to 313 until the last hour.
