[ADXA] LoTW VUCC Question

Pat is correct however things can get a bit more squirrely than the obvious. For example. I was unknowingly not sending grid squares a few years ago, and would get emails indicating there was no grid square. WSJT-x was set right, TQSL was set right, but I was first sending the QSO from WSJT-x to QRZ logging, then doing a transfer from QRZ to LOTW. For weeks I checked settings in TQSL and rebuilt station locations with all showing OK.  I would  eventually do a work around, and copy the QSO out of the wsjt-x file and send it directly to lotw with TQSL which created a duplicate QSO record in LOTW, one with the grid, one without. When I finally nailed it down, it was a missed grid setting at QRZ  


It probably is a missed grid setting from the station on the far end, and could possibly be anywhere from wsjt-x, tqsl or any other intermediary sites/software used to handle the QSO record.  If you ever need information from someone who has done it wrong...give me a shout.

Dennis,
Some ops don’t populate the Grid Square info when establishing a station location in TQSL.  You can ask the op to update his station location to include their Grid and resubmit.  Some will….some won’t.  Look at the “Details” of the QSO….that will let you know if their station location has Grid Square populated.

After the flurry of 6m action last night, I  looked at my LoTW QSL section for VUCC...I have noticed recently that some of my 6m confirmations do not show a confirmed grid square in the VUCC column...Anyone have any thoughts as to why some do and some don't?...I've attached a screenshot showing a section of confirmations and you can see several 6m contacts that don't show grid square confirmation in the right hand column...

 

The reason I ask this is because I have recently had 2 contacts (both in SA) that were new grids I needed and both come back confirmed but with no VUCC Grid Credit on the right hand column...
