[ADXA] mshv issue

Last night was exceedingly frustrating from our QTH, we had a very high noise floor on 40-160…. I decoded virtually nothing on 60 and 160 from VP5. I couldn’t hear well enough on 40 ssb to make more then a couple calls, 80 cw was dismal!
But I went back to 40ssb to check, VP5 was gone but listening to a conversation between 3 very angry hams running 1000 watts and a wire, seems the “big gun” stations are buying the DX contacts by spending limitless money on radios, antennas, illegal amps and absolutely ruining ham radio. Was an interesting listen to whiners, but a different perspective nonetheless.
The old blind sow looking for an acorn activity is not new, nor do I agree with it…it’s especially bothersome on voice. 40 meters last night was shameful.
MSHV does have a call timer with 1 minute the lowest setting for working thru the queue’d call signs, that allows the DX station to call twice before moving on.
So while I don’t like that activity, not much I can do about it but complain like a cranky old fart, I’m not bashing yall, calling names, it’s a personal thing that I surprised myself one day realizing I had became that old fart! So as Joel says, quit peeing like a puppy and get in there…
That said Mrs Debbie KI5QQG used the DXE 100.00 gift card she won last fall at the DX meeting to buy replacement aluminum for our 80 meter 4 sq antennas ! Now I need to order a length of 6” fiberglass channel to rebuild the splitting insulators at the bottoms of said antennas.
Mrs Deb gave me the go ahead to start planting the low band systems antennas as soon as we place where the house will be built, house plans should be in hand next week. So I guess I’ll finish ruining ham radio by throwing limitless money into antenna systems and buying Lannie’s 20kw amp! (Lannie I’m joking, I’ll not buy your amp! )
I hope I’ve not hijacked the email to badly.
