I have heard good things about several of them but my experience is with
ACOM and Expert.
The ACOM 2000 I had was great when it worked but I paid a lot more for
repair then I paid for the AMP will never go back.
The other problem with the ACOM and most other tube amps is that I would
see some good DX and by the time the amp warmed up either I had worked
them with 200 watts or they were gone.
I am now running 2 Experts one is a 2K series 3 which has been trouble
free and is instant on with full 2KW out unless I limit it manually.
I normally run it on mid power which is around 1 KW.
I also have a 1.5K series 3 which has also been absolutely reliable.
I got the 1.3 used with no regrets.
I had a problem with my 2K series 2 but no problems on repair and it was
in warranty at the time.
That was before MTC took over.
If you get an Expert I would recommend you hold out for a series 3
because the duty cycle is much higher and the tuner has more range than
the series 2.
I have no reservations recommending the Experts.
