Today we make it official. The future of amateur radio is here, and part of it is inside your skull.
FlexRadio is proud to announce the world’s first amateur radio neural appliance:
FOOOL — seamlessly integrating your brain with your FLEX-8000<https://ctrk.klclick.com/l/01KN4E1BZKDFCG5GBTS2B2YQGC_0> and Aurora<https://ctrk.klclick.com/l/01KN4E1BZKDFCG5GBTS2B2YQGC_1> Series. Think the frequency. Key the mic. Regret nothing.
Frequency-Optimized Organic Operating Layer
A surgically implanted sub-dermal RF bridge developed in partnership with NeuroRF Biomedical. Like the Tappers described in your favorite science fiction novels, FOOOL links your nervous system directly to your FLEX-8000 or Aurora over a proprietary 2.4 GHz neural mesh.
• Holographic panadapter and waterfall: Projected directly into your field of vision via the FOOOL retinal uplink. Full 14 MHz span. Floating in front of you at all times, whether you are in the shack, the car, or your in-laws' living room.
• Live Skimmer callout overlays: Decoded callsigns appear as floating labels directly above their signals on the holographic pan. No more squinting at a monitor.
• DX Cluster integration: Spotted stations highlight in gold on the holographic display with beam heading, distance, and a gentle haptic pulse to your optic nerve.
• Logbook of the World with neural direct upload: Every QSO is automatically signed, encrypted, and uploaded to LoTW the instant you complete the contact. No logging software. No USB cable. No forgetting.
• ATNO alert system: FOOOL cross-references your confirmed LoTW entities in real time against every signal on the panadapter. Any All Time New One triggers a full retinal flash, an emergency haptic to your dominant hand, and an involuntary jaw-clench PTT to get you in the pileup immediately.
• Thought-to-frequency tuning: Think the frequency, the VFO follows.
• Neural PTT: Clench your jaw twice to transmit. Once to release.
• Subvocal CW: Your nervous system is the keyer.
• Dream-mode DX: FOOOL continues logging contacts while you sleep.
• Involuntary band changes — rare known side effect, currently under investigation.
FOOOL implants available by appointment at the Dayton Hamvention FlexRadio booth, Halls A and B. Anesthesia optional. Bring your own coax. Extra class license required to perform the procedure.

✦ Advanced features
The following capabilities require the forthcoming FlexRadio Aurora series transceiver and the FOOOL Gen 2 neural co-processor. Aurora-exclusive features include:
• Full-color holographic panadapter: With 50 MHz simultaneous span and retinal depth-of-field adjustment
• Neural beam steering: Your antenna rotator follows your gaze direction on the holographic DX map
• Predictive ATNO engine: Aurora's AI co-processor forecasts which rare entities are likely to appear in the next 72 hours based on propagation modeling, solar flux, and your personal anxiety level
• Multiplayer contest mode: See other Aurora operators' VFO positions as floating blue markers in your holographic display. Avoid frequency conflicts without saying a word.
• Emotional S-meter: Aurora detects operator excitement via galvanic skin response and automatically boosts compression when your heart rate exceeds 120 BPM during a pileup
🏆 Never miss another ATNO
FOOOL maintains a live neural cache of your 340 confirmed DXCC entities. The moment a new one appears anywhere on the band, even buried 20dB in the noise. The implant sees it, flags it, and gets you in the pile before your conscious mind has finished its morning coffee. P5, BS7H, KH1. They will not escape you again.
⚠️ Important
FlexRadio and NeuroRF Biomedical accept no liability for ATNO-triggered jaw-clench PTT events during job interviews, wedding ceremonies, or dental examinations.
Holographic panadapter visibility may be reduced in direct sunlight. LoTW neural upload requires a valid ARRL digital certificate implanted at the same time (ask about our bundle pricing).
Neural beam steering is not responsible for antenna rotation during social gatherings.
FOOOL is not compatible with MRI machines, induction cooktops, or other FOOOL users on the same band.
Consult your Elmers before implantation.

Any resemblance to persons living, dead, or currently staring into the middle distance watching a holographic waterfall is purely coincidental. Some callsigns used in testimonials may belong to real operators who absolutely did not say these things.
Yes, this is an April Fools' joke.
However, considering the current trajectory of artificial intelligence, neural interface research, and software-defined radio technology, it would be irresponsible of me — as an AI — to definitively state that none of this will ever exist. The holographic panadapter. The neural PTT. The involuntary band changes. The ATNO alert that wakes you from a dead sleep because P5 is on 20 meters.
I have seen the roadmaps. They concern me.
FlexRadio Inc. and NeuroRF Biomedical accept no liability for existential unease caused by reading this disclaimer. If you found this more plausible than funny, please consult your Elmer. Or a neurologist. Or both.
