I had a boss once upon a time who, when someone walked into his office whining, would reach in his top desk drawer and pull out one of the attached!

 

Yea, I was the recipient more than once but that was work, NOT DX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  😊

Somalia is kicking my tail.  An inv L and 500 watts is not cutting it. Congratulations to all who have worked them!

 

Mike/KB5WBH texted me the other night and said PJ6Y was on 160 and he had worked them. I immediately ran out to the shack and found with my s9 noise, I couldn't hear them. I had taken the pennant down over the weekend to make sure my mast didn't break from the storms coming through. I ended up raising the pennant in the dark, and working them. It seems my antenna work in the dark has happened too often. I have heard in the past that carrots help your night vision. I wonder if carrots come with a bifocal enhancement?

 

My hearing has gone south too. I haven't heard much in years until about 6 weeks ago when I got hearing aids. When I got them I found out crickets were not extinct and my two grand children did not have a speech impediment as I had thought.  My hearing was near normal at a -20db up to 1200hz, but it sharply dropped off after that to a -80. I have found now that in a cw pileup, I can pull my hearing aids and get a bonus 1200hz audio filter!  It goes to show that some things seemingly not good may have some value if you can figure it out.  attached is my  hearing test results...kinda crazy...

 

There is nothing more to whine about today, so I may got out in the "scrap" pile and pull out another fiberglass mast for a second pennant, or maybe see if I can find a hf yagi  in the pile. Gotta get something done if I plan on snagging any of the rare ones.
