[ADXA] ZF5T Wrap Up

If you follow HF contesting you are most likely aware there is a "live
scoreboard" where competitors can voluntarily post their scores in real time
as the contest progresses. The data comes directly from their log via the
internet and is automatically updated. You can view the scoreboard here:

If you select CQWW CW as the contest it will show the status. Since the
contest has ended, these are the claimed scores. You will note ZF5T is #2
world in the Multi/Multi category.

 

During the weekend we were working to stay ahead of PJ2T in the #3 slot and
succeeded. It was impossible to catch CN3A who was way ahead of the herd
with TK0C in the 2nd spot. As the last hour began, we continued to be on a
roll to stay ahead of PJ2T although they had made gains and got close a
couple of times, but with about 30 minutes left Stan noticed we were gaining
on TK0C. Thanks to a good hard push by everyone on all the bands, when the
gong sounded we ended up in the #2 slot ahead of TK0C however, this could be
temporary. This is our claimed score based on our log entries. The log will
now be submitted to the contest sponsor and all logs cross checked. If there
is a callsign or a zone that is not correct it will be removed and an
additional 2 QSO penalty assessed, thus we lose three QSO's. So this could,
and will, impact the final score.

 

Regardless, once official we will wind up in either the number 2, 3 or 4
position in the world multi/multi competition so we will await the results.

 

Traditionally, at the end of a DXpedition or big contest effort a group
dinner is held. We did so this evening and photo attached below.
