Subject: [ADXA] Terrific CW experience

I had worked TX5U and gotten an LOTW confirm over the weekend. This left me
with needing one confirm for CW DXCC.

While I have several mail QSLs sent out from the WPX CW Test and expecting
good returns from them, they may take a while. Yesterday morning I checked
my log and noticed I had worked Franco J8AA on St. Vincent. He is an LOTW
user according to Find A Call search on LOTW and under QSL instructions on
his QRZ page his says to email him. So I did, asking him if I indeed was in
his log from the contest.

I received a quick reply from Franco saying he would check his log at his
office but that it was a holiday and it be would Tuesday before he could. He
asked if I wanted to do a sked. I said, "yes," a scheduled QSO would be
great. He suggested 40 or 20m yesterday evening about 8PM local. I told him
I would email him a little before and see what frequency he thought would
work. He replied OK.

Twenty minutes before 8PM HE emailed me and said he was on 14.038. Sure
enough he was loud and after a bit of QRM settled, I got him on the first
try. He sent me three emails immediately after and one with a screenshot
showing the QSO loaded up to LOTW! My internet had been out for several
hours and it came back on after about 15 minutes of waiting. I let him know
I had received the LOTW confirm, telling him how appreciative I was, and he
emailed again and said, "Anytime." I immediately applied for CW DXCC :-).

Franco was extremely accommodating and helpful. If you need a St. Vincent
contact, he is extremely reliable!!! Great ham spirit.

73,

Scott/W5AAJ
