Pretty sure a few of you have seen the email going around about the
EZ/DL7ZM operation. Gotta say, the ARRL CEO’s response is… something else.
Maybe now’s our chance to finally get him to delete BH7?

But seriously—what the heck is going on up in Connecticut?

I am responding to your comments about this process of certifying your
operation from EK (Turkmenistan) as feeling like a forensic investigation
based on a lack of trust.

We would love nothing more than to certify this very rare entity for the
DXCC program. However, it is critically important that you understand what
it is you are trying to do.

ARRL takes the DXCC program VERY seriously. We uphold total integrity of
the program. People, perhaps even you, made unwelcomed critical remarks of
our certification of the recent Mount Anthos operation with ABSOLUTELY NO
BASIS IN FACT for making a single comment. Now you can imagine what THEY
went through.

You are asking us to certify an operation from a country who has for nearly
TWO DECADES outlawed amateur radio operations within their country. You
can believe that we are going to be held to a MUCH HIGHER DEGREE OF
SCRUTINY by the amateur radio community IF we certify your operation.

You are going to be held to the SAME high level of integrity through the
certification process. I expect you to act professionally as you go
through this process. You will provide all of the requested documentation
as requested. We are not going to tolerate any game playing or debates
through the process. And if you begin to ‘try your case’ in the court of
public opinion by using social media, we will stop the certification
process.

We are very serious. What you are asking for is very serious. Please
treat it as such.

Very 73.
