With 48 confirmed on 160, I am moving like a her of turtles toward 1/2 DXCC. When I hung the pennant I had 23 confirmed with a couple years of being semi-active on that band. I hope to get 2 more before spring.

For just over 2 months I have been manually switching antennas from transmit to receive. After burning up a few xformers and resistors due to “sequencing issues” with the “T/R switch”, I knew I needed to deal with this.

My DIY solid state amp is nearing completion. I am looking for 500ish watts from 160-6. The eBay heatsink from an electric car is very robust so the duty cycle should be good. I suppose, by using electric car parts, my RF is planet friendly. I did speak with the engineer on this asked him to spec in an aux RX port, which I have done. Hopefully by the weekend this will be on the air.

In non radio news, the junk box “thricycle” has been completed. I built this for the grand kids 2 and 4. When the get old enough, it will become a tandem bicycle for them.

Everyone stay safe in the weather.
