[ADXA] Question for you FT8 Folks

What I find using more and more is our N3FJP logging software, because it does a couple things, if I tell it to access the DX hotspots, it populates my radios waterfall with reported stations plus it displays realtime hotspot stations in a configurable screen. And we use HamAlert, DX summit , generally N3FJP is 10-15 minutes quicker displaying spotted stations then DX summit. HamAlert if the alerted station was reported by rbn it will be bogus 95% of the time. But we use about everything out there. The flex interfacing with N3FJP has made me lazier. So if I’m watching the spotted stations scroll by or open the larger screen and click on the station the flex goes there, freq. antenna. Mode

Thanks Michael,

That’s interesting and of course what I’m looking for is the source of this data. It appears to be originating from PSK Report Live Stream.

There doesn’t seem to be any FTx “Skimmers”, other than PSK Reporter, which serves the purpose very well because you don’t need individual skimmers. Anyone that is on or has a radio turned on and monitoring a particular band, or more than one band, and has “Enable PSK Reporter Spotting” selected in WSJT-x or other FT8 type program becomes a “skimmer” and all of the decodes will be sent to PSK Reporter.

Thanks again to everyone who responded. This was a nice educational exercise.

Hi Joel,

I just now found this, and am not sure whether these are manual spots or harvested.

Thanks to everyone that responded.

Guess I wasn’t very clear with my question. I don’t want to see FT8 spots, I want to know what is available to automatically “harvest” decodes and post them to a DX cluster or other spot source like CW Skimmer and the RBN network does for CW. I know PSK Reporter does this but I’m not aware of anything else although some of the suggestions you folks mentioned may. I’ll look into those - thanks!

Thanks again for all the responses - I appreciate it !!

What do you FT8 folks use to monitor for DX spots on FT8??

I’m familiar with PSK Reporter that pulls decodes from a station on a particular band when they’re on and posts them on the PSK Report Map or the PSK Reporter Live Feed but curious if there is something else that is also used, other than the DX clusters where individuals post spots.
