Subject: [ADXA] LA5CI/P Jan Mayen

Sharon at ARRL got it straightened out. They rejected the card because it was over 50 years old and appeared to be from Norway. I looked up all the info I could find, and LA5CI had indeed operated from Jan Mayen using the /P indicator in 1965. It appears that he was there for the entire year of 1965, but he certainly could have taken a vacation back to his home and worked some from Norway. The card was somewhat ambiguous about the location, showing both "Jan Mayen" and "Norway". It did clearly show the /P as part of the call, though, and ARRL had previously given me credit for Jan Mayen but just for mixed credit, no band or mode shown.

My research convinced Sharon pretty quickly to give me credit for a band counter for Jan Mayen. I missed out on the CW credit, though....that date thing! I guess I'll just have to work one on CW now.

73,

Dennis
