Since you are an ADXA member in good standing, along with Kevin N5DX and Bill W5SJ who assist you with your DX activations, tonight I convened an emergency meeting of the ADXA board. The debate was spirited and contentious at times however, I am very please to inform you the board unanimously voted to award your #228 funding request with a very generous $1 contribution. To honor this prestigious financial award, we would like to arrange a special in person presentation at the September 21 ADXA meeting.

Couple of things the ADXA board needs your input on:

 

1.	For 2025, what programs would you like to have for our quarterly meetings?? I can always think up a lot of “stuff” but it may not be what you are interested in. Please give us some ideas.

 

2.	We need your input on DXpedition sponsorship. Our current policy is we will consider funding DXpeditions that rank in the top 50 most needed entities. If we receive a request outside the top 50, they will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Obviously, we must have a policy and cannot provide funding to every DXpedition, otherwise Glenn would have an easy job as Treasurer reporting our bank balance as ZERO! The DXpeditions we provide funding to must support you, the ADXA member. Just because an entity is a highly needed location on Club Log’s Most Needed list doesn’t mean the ADXA folks need it. The purpose of our ADXA Most Needed list we maintain on our website (THANKS N5LKE !!!) is to be able to identify the needs of ADXA members. And, by the way, the end of the year will be here soon so please update your needed list. Many of you have been knocking off some good numbers as of late.

 

The catalyst for seeking your input on our policy is now that DXpeditions are finally back in full swing post Covid, we currently have requests from four DXpeditions that rank # 100, 128, 153, and 156 on the ADXA most needed list. With the exception of #100, which could be a very, very small donation, my position is to not support the other three. That is my position, and may not be shared by the other board members or you. I want to emphasize again that we want to support your DXCC and DXCC Challenge efforts but we simply won’t be able to provide funding for each and every request we receive.
