GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH (G1): Minor G1<https://www.spaceweather.com/glossary/g1.jpg>-class geomagnetic storms are possible on Nov. 7th when a CME<https://www.spaceweather.com/images2024/04nov24/cme_anim.gif> might hit Earth's magnetic field. NOAA<https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/wsa-enlil-solar-wind-prediction>and NASA<https://www.spaceweather.com/images2024/04nov24/nasamodel.gif> models agree that the flank of the CME will, at most, graze our planet's magnetosphere. In fact, a miss is just as likely as a hit, making this a low probability forecast. CME impact alerts: SMS Tex<https://spaceweatheralerts.com/>t<https://spaceweatheralerts.com/>

THE SUN IS CRACKLING WITH FLARES: A phalanx of southern sunspots<https://spaceweatherarchive.com/2024/11/06/solar-maximum-in-the-suns-southern-hemisphere/> is turning toward Earth, and they are crackling with solar flares. During the past 24 hours, Earth-orbiting satelites have detected multiple M-class<https://www.spaceweather.com/glossary/flareclasses.html> flares and one intense X-flare:

Pulses of extreme ultraviolet radiation are ionizing the top of Earth's atmosphere, causing a series of shortwave radio blackouts rolling around all longitudes of our planet. Ham radio operators may notice intermittent loss of signal at frequencies below below 30 MHz.

So far, none of the explosions has produced a significant CME. This could change in response to more explosions later today. Stay tuned. Solar flare alerts: SMS Tex<https://spaceweatheralerts.com/>t<https://spaceweatheralerts.com/>
