[ADXA] Hurricane Raphael

Raphael came by as Cat 1 hurricane with 80 mph winds.  Tge eye directly hit Little Cayman which is about 6 miles from here.  I can see Little Cayman on a clear day.

The house and antenna survived.  A couple elements within about 4-5 feet of the top of the tower moved out of line and should be easy to fix. My 9 circle RX verticals can’t be seen and are in a flooded area. Picture of antenna attached.

It’s still very windy and rainy and flooding.  We had to park at a neighbors house because the driveway is too deep to cross.

We somehow survived the shelter.  They had the place so cold that Rita spent the night on the tile floor in the bathroom because it was warmer in there.  I’m guessing they had the temperature in the mid to high sixties.

Anyway we are home and have electricity but my internet is not working since before the storm.

I got on the Hurricane net from the shelter for a few minutes on 14.325 and 7.268.  The rig was only putting out about 20 watts and they couldn’t copy me too well.
