Greetings ADXA Folks,

You will recall, from Glenn's Treasurer's Report during our last meeting,
among the DX related donations we approved was a $400 contribution to the
IARU Region 1 Youth Camp. The catalyst for the donation was the February
8R7X DXpedition led by Philipp, DK6SP, and Tomi, HA8RT, along with two other
youth from Europe. I noted I had watched Philipp and Tomi "grow up" in the
IARU Region 1 Youth Camp scene and mature into very active hams. The 8R7X op
was a direct result of the Youth Camp work and, in fact, they already have
another DXpedition planned for V7 in 2025.

About a month ago I contacted the IARU Region 1 Treasurer Andy Thiemann,
HB9JOE, about transfer of the funds. Being an astute Swiss banker Andy did
not want to incur any bank transfer and exchange fees or use PayPal, so I
offered to deliver "cash" to him at Ham Radio Friedrichshafen. This turned
out to be an excellent decision because it provided an opportunity for us to
present our contribution to the youth in person, on the main stage, at Ham
Radio Friedrichshafen today.

In the attached photo Rick, K5UR, and I were honored to represent ADXA and
join the Region 1 youth team to make the formal presentation with all of the
youth present thanking each of you for your support. The young lady standing
between me and Rick is the IARU Region 1 Youth Working Group Chair Henni
Hiirsalmi, OH1ESI. Tomi, HA8RT, is the Vice Chair.

73 Joel W5ZN

ADXA President
