It is now just 24 hours before the ADXAthon begins! Are you ready?? At 6:00 PM tomorrow night, Tuesday, (0000 UTC January 1) the event will begin.

 

Keep a record of your contacts. Record time, callsign, band, and mode. There is no requirement for how you document this data other than it must be submitted in writing. It can be handwritten on a sheet of paper or a printout from your log.

 

There is only one hard set requirement you must abide by. You must GET IN THERE !!!!!!

For documentation, just list the station, band, and mode and send to me once the time period ends and a secret committee will review the results…….actually, the ADXA board which isn’t so “secret” !!! 😊

Greetings ADXA Folks,

Can you achieve DXCC in one day? Maybe, maybe not, but there is a TON of DX on the bands and working 100 DXCC entities in a 24 hour period is achievable. 

This is an ADXA challenge! On New Year’s Day we will have a competition, the ADXAthon, to see who can work 100 (or more) DXCC countries during a 24 hour period. This will begin at 0000 UTC New Year’s Day January 1 (that’s 6 PM local time Tuesday December 31) through 2359 UTC (5:59 PM January 1 local). 

Need some incentive other than personal satisfaction? We have an anonymous ADXA member/donor who has contributed a $100 cash prize to be awarded to the winner. If more than one person reaches the 100 mark, the prize will go to the member with the highest total. The objective here is to hit, or exceed, the 100 mark. If no one reaches 100 then the award will go to the member with the highest total. 

Use any band, any mode to make complete contacts. This is an ADXA sponsored event and only ADXA members are eligible. No cheating!! Use the radio to make the contacts, don’t call your DX buddy to get on the air!
