[ADXA] Merry Christmas

I assume there is some significance to the color of certain keys on the keyboard for gamers. The one we bought my grandson had “extra” keys of different colors. Yesterday morning he called, actually “Facetime” to show me how he had arranged some of the keys with different colors for different “actions” by key stroke.
It is a wired keyboard and when you plug it into the computer it had a very nice backlight. I liked that!

I got a gaming keyboard a couple of years ago and love it. I couldn’t stand the mushy keyboards I had so I went into a local store and tried some out. It wasn’t cheap, but worth every penny. It makes an authoritative click when you press the keys. I’m sure it adds 2.3 db to an FT8 signal. A friend asked me what color the keys were and I didn’t have a clue. Apparently gamers customize their keyboards and use different color coded keys depending on the feel they want. Mine acts like a real keyboard and I like it, whatever it is.
I called my favorite furniture store and they don’t carry any office chairs. Staples closed up shop in Russellville. Acxiom may have surplused a bunch of Steelcase chairs, and I’ll find out soon where I can look at some. Even if they are too worn, I can get an idea how they feel.
The DX Racer has adjustable arms that will allow me to scoot them under the desktop if I want to. I may get a pink one (NOPE!). I’m sure the pink one would deduct a couple of db on any digital mode.
The one Jussi linked to looked good, also.

Very interesting, Dennis!! That’s actually the URL for the company, https://www.dxracer.com/ !!!!
I’m still looking for a new chair also. A couple weeks ago we were at my son’s house and my grandson demo’ed his. I sat in it, and it was comfortable and OK, but wasn’t exactly what I’m looking for. It did have one nice feature, though. It has a USB cable that you can plug into a USB charger and the lumbar vibrates!! I thought that would be really neat for times when my back needs a little attention from long hours of operating but then I realized once the vibration began I would most likely be sound asleep in five minutes!!! Nice, but not accommodating for a contester that wants to stay in the game.
My grandson and Kim say they’re taking me “chair shopping” this weekend. They seem to be much more excited about it than I am, but the search continues here also.
One computer gaming item I do like is a gaming keyboard. It was on our grandson’s Christmas list so we bought the one he had identified on Amazon. I don’t like a full size keyboard for contesting. I have no use for a number pad so all it does is take up extra space at the op position. This keyboard did not have a number pad but what I really liked about it was the heavy duty keys that would take a hard whack…..looks and feels like something that might work well here so I may give one a try.
Keep us posted on your chair pursuit!

Merry Christmas, all!
I’ve been looking at chairs and saw the one my son uses today. He works from home part of the time and also does some gaming. His chair is a DX Racer. Hmmmmmm
