I ditto Stan’s remarks, along with fingers and toes being crossed for Glorioso.

Thanks, Joel and ADXA for the info. I’m holding my breath for the Glorioso operation as it is one of two j still need.

Excellent choice to support all the items listed financially.

73 and good DX to all,

Greetings ADXA Folks,

The ADXA board has reviewed several funding proposals and has approved the following:

FT4GL Glorioso - $600
N5J Jarvis - $300
CY9C St. Paul Island - $250
A5 – Bhutan $300 (still under consideration)
Club Log - $400
IARU Youth Camp - $400

The basis for each is as follows:

FT4GL – the ADXA #3 most needed. While this is a single person operation, the French proved during the FT8WW op they can execute this type of DXpedition successfully.

N5J – We received a request for funding. Our review indicates that, while this is #91 on the ADXA most needed for an ATNO, it has been over 30 years since the last activation and some of our newer DX members need this one. There are also many who need this to fill band/mode slots. Our good friend and 2023 ADXA Conference Special Guest Adrian, KO8SCA, is a member of the DXpedition team.

CY9C – We received a request for funding. The one is not in high demand within ADXA however, they plan a significant 6 meter operation with experienced ops. Many ADXA members are now very active on 6 meters and CY9 would be a new one.

A5 – This one has not yet been approved, but we are considering $300 and expect to complete our review in a day or two.

Club Log – Almost every ADXA member takes advantage of Club Log in many ways, from the on-line log search, the OQRS system for requesting a QSL, or the live stream that has become an addiction for us, even if we don’t need the entity!. Club Log is supported by donations and given the level of use by ADXA members we must continue to support this great service.

IARU Youth Camp – This one came on the radar as a result of the recent 8R7X DXpedition. Philipp, DK6SP, Tomi, HA8RT, and the other young DXpeditioners are products of the IARU Youth Camps. The activity in Europe is not only amazing, it is the envy of amateur radio organizations around the world pursuing efforts to attract and mature young people to become very active hams. I’ve watched Philipp and Tomi “grow up” in amateur radio in contesting and DX. Philipp was also a member of the 4W8X team. I can tell you there are many others like Philipp and Tomi currently active and coming up through the ranks in the youth camps who are very active in DX’ing and contesting. The 8R7X operation proves the value to ADXA members and justifies our support. Funding for the youth camps is by donation from amateur radio organizations and individuals.

ADXA continues to be a major participant in the support of DXpeditions and DX activities. Our mission is quite clear, we can’t “GET IN THERE AND WORK ‘EM!” unless financial support is provided to recognize worthy efforts by people or groups that have proven their ability to be successful. It must also be acknowledged that your support of ADXA as a member, and DX in general, is greatly appreciated!!!
