As soon as I posted my request for A52 frequencies, my DX Spotter showed
him at 14.074. Of course when I went there I found many people were
calling them, but no reports. And then a couple of minutes later, they
were posted on 14.091, so I went there, and a bunch more calling them too.
Then spots on 14.092 and that seemed to be the settling spot. Of course,
I'm not hearing them anywhere at this time. And, as always, most of those
calling have never seen them either -- so why call? But, maybe they are
hearing them.
The other night A52 was as high as +12 on 17m (I think) with 6 strong
streams. I had 8db of attenuation and Noise Reduction on my 7610 set.
That cleared the "clutter" below 1k and boosted their signal by several dB
to make the waterfall bloody red on their streams. But just a mile away
and 300' higher, Charles (K5CS) was not seeing signals nearly as strong.
We finally snagged them on 17m and the next day on 15m and ClubLog confirms
that. When confirmed on LoTW, it will be an ATNO for us. One of several
the past few months. Some of which have been confirmed and others, still
waiting.
Ain't it fun....
