I believe that’s because the local media and talking heads have created a looming disaster atmosphere. Got to have lots of drama these days to keep the ratings up!!!! But, better prepared than not, I guess.

  

As Larry Price, W4RA (past ARRL President and IARU President now SK) told me on numerous occasions “You’re entitled to your opinion, even if its WRONG!!!”  😊

I don’t know, Joel - the grocery stores here have already run out of milk and bread!   It’s about like when the weatherman forecasts a 20% chance of snow.
