Dennis,
That is an excellent effort and score! Its great to see you “hanging in there” and fighting the WX and working around it.

Subject: [ADXA] CQ WW RTTY
Well the stars were lined up right for the CQ WW RTTY this past weekend. My wife was out of town so I had no distractions. My goal was to beat the standing World Rookie Record of 2.1 million or at least beat the NA record of 500k. Last year, this was my first real contest to participate in and I got 211k so I thought it might be possible. BUT Mother Nature had other ideas. Everything was going according to plan until I was forced to take 8 hours off starting at 9:00 Saturday night due to storms. What a gut punch at the worst possible time. 40m was great into EU and I was racking up multipliers right and left. So I decided to take a 2 hour nap and let the storm pass. At 11:00 it was still storming so I reset the alarm for 1:00 am. Still storming at 1:00 so I set the alarm for 3:00 am. Still storming at 3:00 so reset the alarm for 5:00. At 5:00 the storm had finally passed and so were my hopes of the world record. Oh well, still enough time to put up a good score. My final score was 1,507,236 with 1325 Q's. Not what I had hoped for but a decent score none the less. A couple of highlights were working Tunisia for an ATNO and bringing K5YY out of semi-retirement for contacts on 2 bands (Thanks San!!!). I also worked K5XH and K5VR. I thought I saw N5ZM jumping around but I could be wrong. Overall a good contest and look forward to SSB in October.
