Pat, you are right on target. When I was president of the LSDXA in Dallas, at HamCom when we had the W5DXCC dinner, Earl was awarded the coveted DX HOG of the Year, by the LSDXA, at LEAST twice. Way to go, Earl!!!
We always appreciated the participation of the ADXA in assisting the LSDXA, joining with the TDXS, the CTDXCC and San Antonio, Mississippi and NM DX Associations in bringing in great speakers to our annual event; OH2BH (skipped Dayton one year to come to Dallas), ON4UN (SK), K4UEE, N5TJ, K9NA, to name just a few…it would be great to have that kind of cooperation again 😊.
I am leaving for Mallorca Monday for three days to visit EA6EJ, a fellow FOC member and may be able to get on from his shack as EA6/W5SJ! We have been so busy here, being tourists and entertaining Kathy’s best girl friend and her husband from Blytheville, that I have not had a chance to find a picnic bench to get set up, BUT, when we get back to Lucca, I will try to get my lil’ KX3 working from atop the wall of this amazing Tuscan town…will try to make it on a CWT Wednesday a week from this next Wednesday at the 1300z slot. Hope to work some of the gang from EA6 or I,
Vy 73 from sunny Italy, Ciao!

Earl, N5ZM, has been scrounging around in the nooks and crannies and found some DX he hadn’t worked before. Earl has hit the 200 mark on 160M and bumped his 10M total to 342. During the 6M Es season he managed to snare two more new ones and is now at 120 on the Magic Band. His Desoto Challenge total is now 2942….58 away from the 3K mark.
You all know that Earl has earned the ADXA “DX Hog” title numerous times but he has also been bestowed that title by the Lone Star DX Association “back in the day”. I think Earl had worked a DXpedition on every available band slot (with a few dupes thrown in for god measure!). I think it was Bob, K4UEE,who pronounced him the “Hog” of that Dxpedition.
Keep rooting around Earl….never know what you might turn up.
73,
Pat, W5VY/KL7 Valdez, AK (on a cruse ship…no rig!)
