TU got ADXA information Joel. Will not make next ADXA quarterly on Sept 16, as I will be in Hot Springs doing some chores. Did have something sorta rare to give the ADXA. Guess it will be at the annual meeting in Russellville. Came from W6CF, Mr. Maxwell…
I have my Solomon Island 160m QSL from H44DX from February 9th, 1979 QSO but was in your early days of starting to chase DX in the 72-73 timeframe sorry to say.
On the 4W8X need, I will never work them on 160 or 80m as I am not on the low bands anymore. But, I do have Timor 4W6 on the 3 WARC bands, 14 and 21mc etc and on RTTY from 2000. Guess I got lucky. Do have cards from 4W6GH, 4W/K7BV, 4W6MM etc, all in the year 2000. Lucky year I guess!
San good DXing to all . . .

Subject: [ADXA] ADXA 3rd Quarter Meeting Saturday 9/16
Greetings ADXA Folks,
Please don’t forget our 3rd Quarter Meeting this Saturday, September 16, in Russellville. It will be good to visit with everyone, catch up on your latest DX quest and achievements (lies?), and report on some business the board has addressed. Our program for the meeting will be presented by Charles, K5CS, on the WebRadioControl remote software along with a live demonstration.
ADXA Newsletter Editor (and Secretary/Treasurer!) Glenn, N5RN, will have the newsletter out shortly. It is in final draft review. I want to encourage you to please read my President’s column, plus there is a very excellent report from Rick, AI5P, on the International DX Convention in Visalia and his DX trip to the Azores. Always great writings and enjoyable reading from Rick!
The WX is finally starting to break a bit and football season is here. I got an early start yesterday morning until around 2:00 PM performing the usual preparations to get all of my low band RX antennas out. This includes testing all the amplifiers for the active arrays and the feed point matching circuits for the passive arrays as well as testing cables (37 signal and 4 control total) and structural condition of the vertical arrays. Once the second hay cutting is completed in about four weeks the fields will be clear everything will ready to go. 4W8X Timor-Leste and H44WA Solomon Island, both scheduled for November, would be new ones for me on 160 meters so I’ll be gunning for those. It’s the only band I don’t have those two on. There have been a few operations from Solomon in years past but they have always had RX issues and worked very few stations.
The rest of the day (and most of the night) was spent in the recliner watching football !!! 😊
So, you know the drill. Look at our webpage at all the upcoming DXpeditions then look at your station “to do” list and get going. The fall/winter DX season is quickly approaching! You do NOT want to try to “GET IN THERE AND WORK ‘EM” and then realize you can’t because of a station issue you didn’t resolve because you spent all your time watching The View!
