[ADXA] TU Joel... Lenny was close friend for many years in Hot Springs, etc..

  TU Joel for shocking information about Lenny. The old timer DXers might remember I got him and his wife Norma to move to Hot Springs in early 1975 along with the assist of ML Young W5QKR.. Lenny wanted to get away from the east coast and visiting Hot Springs for a few days convinced him to move there. He was a VERY close friend. 
  I helped him install so many verticals/radials at his home just a couple of miles from my home in south Hot Springs. Many trees were all around the 5-6 tall verticals and were chopped down with QKR and me assisting. He loved constantly being #1 to work someone in the pileups  back then. He and his wife both became patients of mine at the my Hot Springs Family Medical Clinic I started in January 1974 with another MD. Lenny and Norma came for office visits every 2-3 months during 1975. I made some house calls to their home when I went home in the evening. Saved them waiting in line at our clinic.
   I usually called or emailed Lenny about once a year after he moved to PA 10+ years ago. He had no real station but used a local radio club’s station occasionally. Joel, where did you find the obituary info? TU for relaying the info to us ADXA members.

I am saddened to report that Honorary ADXA Life Member Lenny Mendel, K5OVC, passed away yesterday morning at age 94.
