It's like what the guys from Alaska say when they get on at any time on any
band. Asia is about all they hear. They work what they can hear.
Having said that, several months ago I needed Alaska on 6m for WAS. I
heard one AK guy and went back to him. Solid contact. Within about 10-15
minutes another AK popped up and I worked him as well. Both LoTW
confirmed within a couple of days. I watched them both work dozens of JA's
and R's interspersed with a very few Lower 48 guys.
Considering I only have my 5Elem M2 @ 30' to do the "heavy lifting" on 6m,
I was very happy to be able to compete with the Asian "noise" level, and I
don't have an amplifier PERIOD. All my contacts for the past 50+ years are
"rig max", and that's been ~100w plus the gain (or loss) of my feedline
and antennae.
