Hi San,There were several guys busted just a few months ago over running high power on 30 m. So yes they do monitor there. Not sure how they prove such a thing? That article was in QST if I remember right?Actually for a fun exercise I totaled up all the private and Club donations for Bouvet which would have been on the minimum amount donated shown on their website. That amount came to around $40 per QSO. That's bigger assumes the bare minimum which I'm sure they got more money than that. So I guess $50 that's not too far out of line for those guys.At least I had a decent shot at working them while they were ignoring North America and busy working themselves on 17 M the last day. Wish they had just added themselves to the log once when they were back on the boat. Still there was no guarantee I would have worked them over the European pileup. However I had a good copy for a while. At least they got home safely. A scary Expedition for sureThat just saves me some bucks another Expedition.😁73 jay/w5jay..Sent from my Galaxy

Think it says if you get a QSO confirmation via LoTW THIS EARLY after the trip, that it costs $50-100 on the front end… The $ amounts required depends on about 5-6 situations and I get confused just a bit. Big delays for a buro QSL card but cost only $3.. Glad I did not need them on 30m but did need on 40m and 80m.. It’s like a tip for the waiter at a nice restaurant. The better he/she is, the better the tip. My 30m 200w PEP rig (by FCC rule) and short vertical would not have worked them now compared to using my 3 ele beam at 80 feet years ago. Some ADXA members have great antenna systems and still had trouble hearing 3Y0 much less working them! I promise some mid and east coast/FL NA DX stations I heard calling were using a KW and wonder if the monitoring authorities took note? There ARE rules to follow on 30m. . . Now, back to chasing CY0S on 14 CW or RTTY on any band.. this is only their 3rd full day of operating, Tues-Thursday. Should be a hectic, fun weekend of DXing, so many semi-rare entities on the bands for some reason.San Sent from Mail for Windows From: w5zn at w5zn.orgSent: Thursday, March 23, 2023 11:19 AMTo: adxa at mailman.qth.netSubject: Re: [ADXA] 3Y0J WHAT????K5UR needed Bouvet on a band??
