Greetings all,

When you are the CQ VHF editor, you work the VHF contests if you can. This
one was great for me.

I made around 50 contacts on 6m phone, 30 or so on 6m FT8 and a handful on
2 and 432, courtesy of Steve, AG4V/R and Dennis, K5OLV, nothing exotic on 2
or 432, but on 6 I've added 15-20 grids, will pass 200 on FFMA. Still a
long way to go. Further, Belize was a new country for me! I also worked
Mexico and Cuba and Canada (There's my DXing report).

My 9100 didn't want to play well with FT8 so I only did digital on 6 this
time. The receiver on my IC-7700 is really great for 6 meters. Easy to
pull one signal out of a pileup, etc. Just running 3 elements on 6, I
worked a bunch of stations off the back of the beam.

Sunday afternoon / evening was a really good 6 opening, including western
stations, I worked CA and WA and even a VE7 in a CN grid. One of the best
openings I can remember in terms of scope and persistence.

Just a few moments ago I confirmed grid #200 on 6 meters. Still a long way
to go, but getting so many over a weekend was a nice boost.

Now to work Ducie!

73,

Trent
