A DirectTV dish I'd available in Searcy, too! K1LEC

Anyone want a Direct Tv dish for their new 10ghz transverter? I have three that need a good home.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to say a special thanks to Joel W5ZN (CS Pres) and Pat W5VY (CS VP) for a fabulous weekend of fun with the Central States VHF Society!
We got to see some of the ADXA regulars like Roger N5QS, Dawn N5QT, John WB5BHS, Dave K5UZ, and Steve N4JQQ.
This was my first time to make it to a CS VHF Conference and all I can say is WOW! I learned a ton of good info and now makes me want to play more with the VHF and above frequencies. I have always had an interest in VHF and up, but never acted upon it. Like the DXing side of the house, wish I had done this decades ago.
Unlike most gray hair events, this conference had some young blood in it. More than I have seen in a long time. You ask, how young, well guessing most of them were at least half my age. Some are well on their way to great things. The ones that spoke had some of the most entertaining forums of the conference. It was great to see them as the next ambassadors of ham radio!
The banquet was nice and everyone received at least one prize. I hadn’t seen that before at any conference. Everything from books to test gear. Such as VNAs and waveform generators were some of the prizes I saw. If I had lingered around just a little bit longer I could have got a nice 10 GHz beacon kit, LOL. Still I bought home a very microwave nice book that will get read. The women folks enjoyed their own prize table.
Even though I knew a few of the folks within the Central States VHF Society, the ones I didn’t know were super friendly from the time we arrived to the time we left the motel.
I don’t know if I will be around the next time Central States VHF comes to Arkansas, but sure glad I made the effort to attend this year’s event. It was well worth it.
Thanks again Joel and Pat for all your efforts before and during the weekend!! 73 de jay/w5jay..
