Greetings ADXA Folks,
Just like Santa Claus, DX is EVERYWHERE!!!!! And even though some may
believe Santa is not real, no one can deny that DX IS !!!!
If you have been sleeping, lazy, or maybe away for business or pleasure
and have not worked TY0RU you still have a couple of more days. The
pileups have been worked down and pretty much gone and TY0RU is calling
CQ, begging for a response.
The next five weeks between now and Thanksgiving has some real juicy
DXpeditions coming up. P29RO, VK9CM, 5V7RU, J28MD, and TL8AA. A couple
of these are in the ADXA top 100 and one in the ADXA top 50. To say it
is very exciting to once again have DXpeditions occurring all over is an
understatement. The only one I need of these is VK9CM on 160 meters but
they aren't planing any 160 meter activity. Top band conditions are poor
right now anyway but as you know 12 and 10 meters have been RED HOT!!!
Regardless of whether I need any of these you know I'm addicted to a
pile up and can't keep away. I must jump in and from seeing all of the
ADXA posts on our reflector and peeking at the log search to see how all
of you are doing I'd say you suffer from the same addiction!
HEY!!!! this is why we follow this passion. Its not a "game", it is a
passion that makes us all feel really good by communicating with a short
wave station on the other side of the world with a small shortwave
station we assembled and operate ourselves. Oh sure, we have folks tell
us there is no joy in that as we can whip out a cell phone and call
someone over there. That's right, all you do is pay money for a
commercial service you put no effort into. But to quote one of my
favorite bands, the Beatles - "CAN'T BUY ME LOVE!"
So, with all of these DXpeditions forthcoming that some of you need for
a new one and some of us just need to feed our addiction, to quote Mr.
Spock, "Go forth and prosper" but by all means GET IN THERE AND WORK
'EM!
