I heard they had an earthquake/tsunami warning in that area, but apparently all is OK now.

I had a strange experience yesterday - There was a delay/echo on A35GC on 17 CW that was enough to make copy almost impossible even though he was strong enough.  I don’t know if this was an example of LP/SP at the same time or something else.  I finally was able to copy and started calling him.  He wasn’t copying much although there was a big pileup.  He came back to K5RZ.   I sent him a correction and he said “R TU” then there was a pause about long enough to correct a log entry, and then “A35GC UP”.  He is an excellent CW operator so either he just neglected to send the corrected call or it really was someone else.   So - I did something I try to avoid - I worked him again later when conditions improved.
