[ADXA] VU4W - My take on things. :-)

As you can see Jay and as I have been saying for 3-4 years now, FT8 is confusing with the constant changing going on, different DXpedition ways that they plan for their FT8 etc. and even those on FT8 a long time get confused about what sequence and where to call etc etc etc… At my age, I could NEVER start FT8 (and other) PC software digital modes; it’s confusing enough on just knowing where, when and how to call a DX station or a DXpediton on SSB or CW and maybe RTTY at times. 😊 ☹
I am not on the bands to even listen to see if I can hear a rare one being spotted on DX Summit If I did hear someone a bit weak or even strong with a big pileup, it is not worth my time with all this house tornado destruction that has happened and my constantly doing something to get this house reconstruction going faster and dealing with SO many different construction crews… I am a bit concerned if I leave the house for an hour and Melinda is alone here, that “things” could happen.. It’s called Anxious-Depression syndrome and ham radio is taking a big back seat at this time and will for another 4-5 months. Just hope I won’t have to drop my CY0 Sable team commitment in October.. So looking forward to that and getting with some long time friends of mine for the first time on a DXpedition.
73 Jay.. CU at OWS in couple of weeks.

Good point Steve,
To add insult the injury there was also a pirate on the other day using VU4W's call sign at the same time. He was on the other sequence from the real VU4W.
It goes without saying that if the majority the pack is doing something different than you. You might want to step back and take a look at things for a few minutes.
What I don't get is the blind callers on the wrong sequence. There is no way they could be printing the station they are calling. Very weird. I've seen everything from CQs, to calling other stations. Most of that was left over in the generated messages.
Info about the pirate operation is on VU4W web page.

Hi Rory,
As you know, but these guys on the wrong sequence DON'T, is that he is NOT using F/H, but multi-stream from MSHV software.
That is normally not a problem .... except when the DX chooses to use 2nd Sequence. Because F/H will only let Fox use EVEN, and Hound use ODD. Unless someone gets through the DXers heads that regardless of beam direction, use EVEN, some stations will be always be transmitting on the wrong sequence. Ugh.

I got a signal report but never got a RR73 or 73. Logged it but don't know if it will show up in his log yet. Now one of the local idiots is transmitting in the same time slot he is. I told him on the local repeater that it won't work but he said "I understand that". Can't fix stupid.

Rory.

Congrats to Bill K5FUV for getting through on 17M FT8. Saw Rory, K5CKS in there also.
I got through but didn't get a RR73.
