RRR Jay… I am exhausted from yelling, cursing, breathing hard and having rapid heart beats from the Arkansas-Gonzaga game.. I am still wide awake but going to bed soon.
On the FY5 card, I have FY, as you do, from MANY years ago and the only thing I needed confirmed was 1 60m CW QSO from 2020. Some FY cards from years ago that I have are from the Radio Amateur Club de Kourou, so it has been the same for decades it seems. The FY1 manager has the SAME address for sending cards to him.. No big deal. But whenever I send to someone for a new band QSO, I usually include “recent” QSOs on other bands with the station too. Getting more confirmations for your money! HI
Often when I have had 20+ band modes worked for a DX entity, I will at least send for WARC bands, 60m, 160-40 but leave out 14 and 21mc QSOs. Usually put down CW QSOs, then add some SSB perhaps and RTTY for sure if worked on that mode. Then I will file the return QSL in a “general A-Z box” or maybe in a band and/or mode box like 60m, 80 SSB or 40 RTTY for fun of it. Fun stuff. Have 1000s of cards all over the place as you know and have seen.
Threw away 3000-4000 NA 1-0 call area QSLs when moving here in 1993, dating back to 1957 and wish I had kept those with photos or funny or strange front portions. Also threw away some DXpedition QSLs sent to me for my earlier trips up through 1985 or so. Just not a lot of room to put all cards from past 65 years.. Most of the ones I kept are in the attic now in cardboard and metal slide boxes. Memories galore!!
CU Saturday. Nice weather so should have a good crowd.

Subject: [ADXA] FY5KE QSL cards from when I Johnny Novice DXer,LOL

Hi San,
So I pulled out all my FY5 cards and found two FY5KE in the pile. Boy that
was a long time ago! Please see attached. These cards were for a different
callsign, but you can see how they reused them with FY5KE stamp. Identical
cards, but for different Bands. One card was scanned on the front and the
other the backside. Both were on SSB. It doesn't say who the manager was
on the card, but my logbook says via:
Radio Amateurs Club DE KOUROU QSL Manager: KY1FL
678 Route de I'EGALITE.

After 26 years I am sure that route may have changed? Gezz where did the
time go?

The latest one was confirmed under KY5KE callsign was via LOTW on December
3, 2020 on 10m CW for a new mode. Really the only band I need them on is
30m and 6m. Those other contacts are different calls and they confirmed all
on LOTW.

I not sure any of this helps you, but cool to look over!

Hopefully I didn't make more bad typos in this email! Been a bad day for
them!!

73 de jay/w5jay..
