Awesome, Jay! Been a hard zone for me to get. I have Z8 on two bands but
that is all from that CQ zone. Hoping the hex beam will help there.
Been having fun learning to use it directionally. So many good signals now
pointing N-NW at night for Japan, China, and southeastern Asia and N-NE
during the day for south central Asia and Africa.
Thanks for the DX Maps tip for seeing when working towards the South Pole is
best. Used it the other day. The signal to India was about the same, maybe a
couple DB less. Definitely worth checking!
Still have to order a rotor assembly and decide where to put the base of the
folding mast. I'm only going to put it up about 20feet or so. That should be
enough to clear the roof line and simplify the mast, keeping it easy to drop
down for storms. We get some wicked winds here on rattlesnake ridge.

Scott

Hi Scott,
Well I almost did as well, but I was looking at the band map and while
jumping bands to see if there was a new band mode on. If I am not getting
caught up around here I will stare at the cluster while tuning the bands.
Anyway while waiting for the amp to warm up I worked him with just a couple
of calls at 50 watts. So that was fun. Hopefully going through a small
millstone in a few days with contacts like that one. He is supposed to be
on LOTW.
I love LOTW, but I got a nice card from SU9VB and he included some money
from Egypt. Even put one confirmation on that denomination. Not sure that
will count, but it was signed by him. There was a QSL card included has I
think all our contacts.
I have about 3 cards that need to be checked.
Look for some screen shots of that later.
