This weekend, actually starting this evening at 6:00 PM local time, is the ARRL International DX Contest - Phone. It begins at 0000z Saturday March 5 and ends at 2359z Sunday, March 6.
If you're not a CW person and barf when you hear "FT8" then this one's for you !!!!!!!!!!!!
Or, if you're an all mode person turn on that radio! Regardless of your operating preference you will have an opportunity to pick up a new one or just break the boredom by knocking off some DX. Your exchange is your state, e.g. 500 AR (or Arkansas) and the DX station will send you their power level, e.g. 599 400 or 599 KW. Remember for the ARRL DX contest USA/VE to USA/VE contacts do not count for anything so I would encourage you NOT to call a USA or VE station during this contest as it is of no value, especially if you were to try to call a USA station right in the middle of a DX run for that station. That is especially aggravating.
Our WX forecast from the TV personalities masquerading as real meteorologists say we could have scattered rain tomorrow and rain on Sunday so you might as well get on and work a few. The DX stations will greatly appreciate the Q.
