[ADXA] Just an update on South Sudan and other DXCC comment

Two people have asked me in the past year about South Sudan and its DXCC program inclusions.
The original ST0 South Sudan where I was in 1978 was deleted in 1998, 20 years later. There were a few operations after my being there and I had been the second person to operate from Juba.

After the 1998 deletion, South Sudan under a different administrative body from ST2, was RE-added to the DXCC list as a new entity. So if you worked the new ST0 ( Z8 ) and had worked the first ST0, you would have 2 credits to your DXCC numbers, one including the present Z8 and the other the 1998 deleted ST0.

So, the new operators out there who started DXing after 1998 can have only one ST0 on their DXCC list, a current country. If some older DXer has only the old ST0, then you better get in the chase for working the new ST0/Z8… Doubt many have made that ‘overlooked’ mistake. 😊

The Germany situation of splitting to east and west Germany and then reuniting is a different story completely.
Maybe K5FUV can tackle that for you and clear things up for ole times and new DXers. 👍 Interesting for sure!

My comment for the month. Good DXing; the upper bands are improving a lot lately.
