FYI…
Appears the CW op is mainly the leader VK3QB, Chris, and the other two ops are Luke and Alan (VK3HJ and VK6CQ) operate mainly digital although Luke loves CW too. As to who operates SSB, just not sure.
They all three were on VK9NT in 2013 with me; I did most of the SSB operation from my different site location ¾ mile away from Chris and Luke from the ocean frontage cottage. I found conditions good on 28-21mc and due to rarity at that time, I mainly operated 28/24 and 18mc, trying mainly to provide WARC band QSOs. I did RTTY some and Alan did mainly RTTY, NO FT8 in those days! 😊
I loved Norfolk Island and the people there. Some island administrative issues exist from mainland VK and have been a problem to some extent for many years. Captain Cook’s story about being in charge of Norfolk Island is a great read as to the beginnings of Norfolk per se. Some Norfolk residents were taken and deported to a place later known as Pitcairn Island a LONG way away and isolated. Good history to know about the beginning of Pitcairn too..
I managed to make a couple of CW Qs the past 2 days, just to say “hello” to Chris! Fun to do that.
