That is awesome, Joel! Sounds like fun times working DX between your two calls. His "radio museum" is something to behold on QRZ pics. I thought with all that old school gear and vintage car out front he could break through to ZC if anyone could, LOL.
It was fun to work Chak last night again. He was working 5s left and right and didn't miss a beat. And he had 20m all to himself. I have a first card off to him 8/4 via JAPAN, taking Earl's suggestion. We'll see if that works.

Scott - tnx for this post.
I was on 40 meter CW last night buttoning up a near mint Drake 2C receiver I'm selling and wasn't on 20, but I can tell you that Chak, JT1CO has a very impressive station that will burst through when others won't.
Here's a bit of trivia regarding W5ZG. John's Novice call was WN5HRI and he was my very first contact as a licensed radio amateur. In later years after we "reacquainted" with our new W5Z calls he still had in his files my Novice QSL card I sent him and he insisted I accept it as a gift from him, which I gladly did! I have it secured in my safe along with my old Novice license.
John and I have been in big hairy CW pileups before, duking it out when the DX station sends W5Z?? Of course, the difference between an "N" and a "G" on CW is easily confused under adverse conditions.

JT1CO had a prolonged window on FT8 20m with strong signals into 5 country last night, through the night, and into this morning. I picked him up on a new band last night. Also saw a few spots for 9M2 and A35, but never heard them. SFI was 100 with a nil K index. Curious why JT had such good opportunity into the area with nothing else going on. Africa stations (except for 5T) have been very difficult the past couple of days but I did pick up FM4 and ZS on 5 watts over the weekend and two Greek stations on 5W Tuesday.
Watched W5ZG a little while ago trying to work ZC4GR on 15m. I am hoping for an opening later this afternoon if ZC stays on the air.
Thanks for any observations or input.

Scott
