Strange but not surprising to me. For some reason I wanted to check on how many of us in the top 100 of USA Zone 4 do NOT have FT4/FT8 QSOs. 96 of the top 100 have one or more (mostly a lot more) FT8/4 QSOs and only 4 of us have NO FT8 contacts.
I stand at #63 now and proud that I got that high with NO FT8 but takes a lot of chasing for sure and time spent day and night.
The other “non FT8” guys are #78 N7US, #93 K9PG and #99 AK8A.. I am sure you recognize these DXers from the CW and SSB pileups. In today’s DXing climate, it is not unusual to see 95% in the top 100 in zone 4 using the FT8/4 band/modes for many of their QSOs. The rest of us strictly CW/SSB and occasional RTTY guys hope to see ourselves in the top 100 on SOME of the DXpedition statistics. Anyway, interesting thought and did not check this until todays stats. I was curious, not being an FT8/4 guy, to see who I was really competing with.. HI HI
A bit shy on DXing activity to report today so thought I wud throw in a general subject of note.
