[ADXA] Lotw question

In past days, I had a serious question about Lotw about once every other year and Norm Fusaro, W3IZ, could answer it immediately off the top of his head.  Sadly, Norm has retired now.  I sent an e-mail on Friday to the lotw help desk and they will eventually get back to me, I’m sure, but there are a lot of smart people here….

My version of TQSL is 2.2.2, from 2016!  DXLab keeps reminding me that there is a new version available and I have tried to upgrade numerous times but TQSL flashes an error message too quick to capture and goes away.  On the Lotw site, there are some suggestions for solving this problem, but most of them are either over my head or I wasn’t in the mood to be an IT guy while reading them.   My version works fine but there are a couple of new settings I’d like to implement.

I don’t want to uninstall TQSL and reinstall because I’m not sure how my certificate would be handled.  I made a backup of something as suggested and it is on a thumb drive, but the certificate stuff has always been a mystery to me.

Any suggestions of things that might work.  I don’t really want to try 20 different computer settings and hope one of them works.  This couldn’t be that difficult!
