Hey Bill,

Well, yes and no.  I think Paul's issues were precipitated by diabetes and
cancer diagnoses a few years ago.  He developed equilibrium issues and fell
a couple of times, followed by a-fib heart condition, and was recently
released from the hospital, and using a wheelchair.  Last weekend, Mark /
K5XH and Tom / W5XNA relocated some of his gear inside his house for easier
access, and Paul was last heard checking into the 3830 Roundtable (16:00,
local) on Sunday afternoon.  Then the guys received a call today from a
niece indicating that Paul had become an SK last night.

Paul was about the same vintage as Mark (K5XH) and I (73).  They have
shared interesting stories about enjoying the Fayetteville High School
radio club shack (the K5TQC QSL in the photos) while not in class in the
60's.  I think Paul's first call was WN5IBB, or similar.  He was KK5II
until a year or two ago, and during his military service was DL5DW, running
phone patches from Germany from the big legacy MARS station at Rhein-Main
AFB (with one of those monster Log Periodics; DL4AA?).

Paul is survived by his XYL Earline(sp), who sadly also has cancer.
