By the way, I did see an error in the section about me.  I joined the Springfield, VT Civil Air Patrol as a Cadet in 1958 with aspirations of learning to fly.  A pilot's license doesn't require a ham ticket (as stated), but CAP led me in that direction with W1UWS being the Squadron Commander and W1TIM, my neighbor and Elmer, being the Vermont Wing Commander!
