OK, think I have figured out now, the original NR Contest and the more recent NRR. The NR was what Joel alluded to by asking if anyone remembered the ARRL Novice Roundup contest. The “Rig Roundup” was a newer fun venture.
Years ago, Priakos and I participated with Doc W5 in Fort Smith in his annual venture to the “old equipment” contest. He had literally dozens of setups allowing him to make 3-4 times the QSOs with different rig setups than anyone in the USA. Every xmtr, rcvr and xcvr was old, think they had to be at least 25 years old, can’t remember the exact age rule. SJ may remember. Not sure if it was single op or not but doubt it since I made some QSOs and W5SJ made MANY QSOs even thru the night hours. Fun stuff for sure. Couple of rigs blew up but Doc fixed them and had them ready for the next year.
San YY Novice Roundup guy from 1959 for the 2 first weeks in February. Think 40 hours max total time limit.

I spent time gg thru my first 5 logs and notice my first Novice Roundup was in Jan 31st-Feb 15th, 1959! I do NOT see a specific # I used or was assigned! What am I missing? I am not on the long list that Joel gave a link to showing callsigns registered over the years. I went thru the 1000+ calls and double checked AR and I am not listed!!
In the Novice Roundup I made 58 Qs in 26 sections and had a total of 1768 points. All QSOs were on 21mc! Worked all call areas and show where I QSL replied to 11 stations! My total hours spent were 14 1/3 I have written in my log. If anyone can find my NR #, let me know! TU.

How many of you remember ARRL's Novice Roundup contest?? This was an annual contest held in February aimed at Novices with the objective to provide an avenue for them to improve their code proficiency and pick up some new states. It originally ran for two weeks covering three weekends with a maximum of 40 hours operating time. Beginning with the 1972 event it was shortened to nine days and covered two weekends with a maximum operating time of 30 hours.
There is an annual event that began a few years ago to commemorate the original Novice license and equipment from that era called "Novice Rig Roundup". Details are at:
NOVICE RIG ROUNDUP
Dennis, W5RZ and I have membership numbers. There are no dues. Those of you who were here for our September 2019 meeting saw my original Novice rig, a Heath DX-60B transmitter and HR-10B receiver. Those have now been relocated to the operating desk so I can press them in to service occasionally. During my Novice days having your transmitter crystal controlled was mandatory. The HG-10B VFO I have is the original VFO I purchased once I upgraded to General.
If you were first licensed as a Novice, particularly during the highpoint in the Novice era in the 60's and early 70's check out the above link if for no other reason than to reminisce!
