[ADXA] question about VHF contest

I am working a few stations on 2M in the VHF contest.  I’ve checked 144.200 but most activity seems to be on FT8.  That’s OK, I’m making some good contacts, but for the first time, I also have a small setup for 432.  It used to be people would ask on 144.2 if you had 432 and then they would go work there.  How is that handled on FT8?  Is there a separate spotting or messaging app people use, or do they use a free form message on FT8?   I don’t use JT Alert - maybe that’s how they do it.
