This is an excellent book. I had to look hard to find a copy several years ago so I’m glad it’s been made available. At K5BAT, we were able to operate two high power stations right next to each other with antennas on the same tower on 20 and 40 meters. We used stubs we designed after studying George’s book. This was during the Arkansas QSO party several years ago. We have also used stubs at our Field day site. Bandpass filters are great, but easy to blow up when inexperienced operators change bands without changing filters.
The Contest Update contained one quote that might mislead when taken by itself:
“WORD TO THE WISE
Receiver Blocking Level
From the free-for-download book, "Managing Interstation Interference" by George, W2VJN: "When high level signals are applied to a receiver input, there is a level, somewhat lower than the damage point, at which reception is blocked or disabled. This level is a function of the receiver design and varies depending upon the manufacturer and model...Reception is impossible, but no damage results."
George does make this statement, which seems to imply that modern receivers take care of themselves when hit by a strong signal. He goes on, though, to describe at great length how easily a nearby station can damage a receiver.
Highly recommend the book if you operate two or more rigs in any location.

Dennis

There are a number of things in the book that won't be of value for your station however there is a ton of information that will be and the things that aren't will be extremely educational for you.

Thank you! We are pleased to host this." Ward, N0AX, notes: "This is an excellent book that was published by W2VJN and which is now available as a free download PDF. It is cited frequently in ARRL publications."
