I really enjoyed this weekend on the air.

For Battleships and D-Day Commemoration, I worked:

- N6MSO USS Lucid 20m CW

- NE1PL USS Massachusetts 20m SSB

- N1S USS Nautilus 20 FT4

- K4DSR USS Alabama 40m CW

and

- W2W D-Day Commemoration National Electronics Museum MD (20m FT4 5w)

ATNOs VK8 and JY

I lacked one callsign zone for the mainland of Australia, and I'd been after
a VK8 station for a long time (Darwin Northern Territory in the Australian
Outback). Finally, got to work Stuie (VK8NSB) on FT8 15m Friday night. He
also has the VK100AF (Australian Air Force 10th Anniversary SES) which I
also worked with an hour of his other station, also on 15m FT8.

Sunday night the ME (Mid-east) came alive, and I spent almost an hour
chasing ATNO JY5IB on 20m FT8. We finally got a QSO. In the middle of it I
thought I had lost him when a Russian station called me and somehow threw my
reply exchange off, causing me to send my initial call again to JY. JY stuck
with me though as I got back on track with a signal report to him and we
finished. He confirmed within an hour or so.

I also heard Bahrain with a stronger signal which I tried to work but did
not get.

QRP

Also tried to work OD (Lebanon) and 4Z (Israel) on 5w. But could not get a
QSO with them, even though they had strong signals.

However, I did get OE (Austria), YS (El Salvador), GI (N. Ireland), and
France, as well as Lanny (K1LEC) in Searcy, all on 5w, hi!

Hope others had some good radio time this weekend too.

73,

Scott/W5AAJ
