[ADXA] Hard call sign in Morse

I built an HD-10 keyer in the dorm at college. I had a soldering iron but had to use a pair of nail clippers to cut off the wires that stuck out of the circuit board. I used the built-in micro switch paddles a little bit but hooked up my “back-to-back Speed-X” paddles as soon as possible. That was actually a pretty good iambic paddle at the time. I made some little brackets and attached the straight keys to an old Vibroplex heavy base. I cut the finger pieces out of plexiglass. Before the HD-10, I used it with a vacuum tube electronic keyer. Now, I have a Schurr Profi 3, an N3ZN, and a Begali on the desk but probably had more fun back in the old days. (yes, it really is a Profi 3).

My call was WN5IIS and then WA5IIS. I got a lot of II? Too many dits. I mainly picked out RZ because it had a decent rhythm for CW. I think W5RF was not available or I would have gotten it.

73,
Dennis

>> Sure try my old novice call WN5JZX. I built a Heathkit HD-10 paddle keyer and never could send that call with it, hi hi. That was one of the most horrible Keying devices! See it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBINAkfoH9A it had a micro switch on each side that could be adjusted. Again horrible compared to the worse keyers/paddles that we have today, hi.
