[ADXA] I'm clueless on this one - callsign/P (So what else is new?)

George,

The ability to double-click the TX1 box/circle, and have it "gray out",
so that TX2 and higher are the only options ... is a planned function of
FT8.  It's basically the equivalent of "contest mode", in that the
number of sequences needed to complete a QSO is reduces by one.  It just
use reports vs grids.

Domestically, many people don't like that approach ... and will, as you
do, George ...ignor the call.

But when working DX in marginal condx/QSB it is common.  Using a
subjective scale, I'd say 50% of the Europeans use it when calling us in
an opening.  As for JA's, I'd say 99% DO NOT send TX1 when calling DX.
Some days, I'd say that is really 100%.

So you are in good company with many others that don't like skipping
TX1.  But there is a method to the madness in many situations.

73, Steve, W5KI
